How I started my blog:

I’ve talked about this on a previous post. This is not my first blogging experience, but it is the first time I’m taking it more seriously. At the beggining of this summer I was looking for a way to exercise my love for writing and have a way to share some experiences, thoughts and opinion on many different things, since I felt like it was not possible to do so in my personal life.

I decided to create this blog for that exact reason. I wanted to create my own space to vent about different subjects and be connected with different people. Writing has been very helpful for me. I feel like I have this little space to talk about things that I usually don’t because I felt they were not important or interesting enough.

If you want to know more about my blogging history, I talked about on a post about My Two Failed Blogs.

My Advice To New Bloggers:

  • Don’t change your content to get numbers (readers and views).

I know it’s hard to see some people getting their work out there alot faster then you. However, there’s alot that goes into blogging and getting people to appreciate you and stick around. If you start to write certain types of posts just because you see that that’s what attracts more people then you won’t be happy. Not only that, but it’s likely that the quality of your content will not be as good as it can be. If you are writing about something that people don’t even care people, the readers will be able to tell! Focus on writing about what something you like and feel passion for. That way you’ll release good quality content and your audience will eventually find you!

  • Don’t overwork yourself.

I’ve learned this the hard way. I know it’s hard, because you just want to get posts out there and in the beginning you’re so excited and full of ideas. That’s great! However, it’s also important to realize that there’s bloggers who do this as a full time job, but for others (including me) they have other things going on.

Getting a schedule and sticking to it is tricky, specially because if you aren’t able to go it you’ll get disappointed. Don’t feel like you have to post all the time, post when you are ready and happy with the final product. Otherwise you’ll only feel more pressured to post and your content will suffer. Even for people that can have blogging as their only source of income. We all have things going on in our lives. Sometimes, it’s alright to relax and take time from your computer!
